THE OTHER FAMILY (2011)

SYNOPSIS
When 8 year old Hendrix is abandoned by his drug-addict mother, Nina, he is placed in the temporary care of Jean Paul and Chema, a recently married gay couple, while Nina is forced into rehab.
When Nina escapes rehab and tries to get Hendrix back her drug dealer lover conspires to sell Hendrix to a wealthy heterosexual couple mourning the death of their baby. Hendrix is placed in an orphanage while the “adults” bicker over which of them makes the best home for the boy.
Faced with the prejudices of modern day Mexico, only love could shed light on the fact that although you cantchoose your family, sometimes they choose you.
